Updating of the Institute instrument base

Within the Institute program to update the instrument base, a hardware-software complex on the basis of the "Khromatek-Kristall 5000" chromatograph with two detectors FID (flame ionization detector) and TCD (thermal conductivity detector) was bought for the Core Facilities Centre. The complex enables to determine hydrocarbons (from С1 to С3) and pure gases (Н2, He, Ar, O2, N2) in water. The complex includes a chromatograph, hydrogen generator, air compressor with filter, nitrogen generator, and computer for control. This complex will be used to study hydrocarbon emissions and dynamic processes in the water column of Lake Baikal, which will significantly contribute to the hydrophysical research conducted by the Institute.
